Noida e-way hi-tech traffic system launch put off - The Times of IndiaLess than 24 hours before the intelligent traffic management system (ITMS) was to be inaugurated on the Noida-Greater Noida expressway by the Uttar Pradesh chief secretary (CS), the launch has been indefinitely postponed.

Sources said that the programme has been deferred as the CS is occupied with other engagements. Sources also said that the state chief minister, Akhilesh Yadav, is now likely to give the nod to the project. However, whether the CM will cut the ribbon in Noida or from Lucknow is yet to be ascertained. The hi-tech system being rolled out by an Austrian company has come at a cost of nearly Rs 30 crore and is expected to bring down the accident rate on the high-speed Noida-Greater Noida expressway by about 25%.
