Greater Noida Metro may see alignment tweak
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is contemplating an alignment change in the proposed 30km Noida-Greater Noida route which, if finalized, will make Sector 71 the originating station of the link instead of Noida City Centre in Sector 32.
“DMRC is contemplating alignment change as it has already conducted a survey. The 30-km proposed link may then be connecting Noida Sector 71 to Bodaki in Greater Noida. Earlier it was between City Centre In Sector 32 to Bodaki. DMRC is yet to take a final call,” said GP Singh, executive director, Noida Metro Rail Company. “We expect to come up with a new alignment plan this week,” Singh added.
DMRC is expected to begin construction work on the Noida-Greater Noida Metro by March end. “The DMRC is in process to finalize contractors and complete formalities before starting work. The entire process is likely to be over by March,” Singh said.
The Noida Authority has plans to open office of the Noida Metro Rail Company in Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra in Sector 6. The office will later be shifted to its permament building in Sector 96 along the expressway. Singh, also the Authority’s financial controller, said two rooms in Indira Gandhi Kala kendra will be upgraded for NMRC office.
